Zia Mohyeddin’s father, Khadim Mohiuddin, was a renowned educator who had the honor of writing the dialogue for Teri Yaad, the first motion picture produced in Pakistan. In 1949, Zia Mohiuddin received his diploma from Government College Lahore. He moved to England after completing his education in Australia, where he joined the Royal Academy of Theater Arts and began his singing and acting career.
In 1956, he went back to Pakistan, but shortly after, he went back to England on a scholarship to complete his director training.
