More than 20 people were killed when a suicide bomber detonated a device in the Afghan capital of Kabul on Wednesday, according to an AFP staff member.
People are seen lying in the snow in the street outside the main Kabul building, according to images from the scene.
I saw the man blow himself up, but I don’t know how many of them were injured or killed, AFP driver Jamshed Karimi said.
The explosion was confirmed by Kabul police spokesman Khalid Zadran, “which regrettably resulted in casualties.”
He tweeted, “Security teams have arrived at the area.”
Since retaking control in August 2021, the Taliban assert that security has improved; however, there have been numerous bombings and attacks, many of which have been blamed on the local DAESHgroup chapter.
